A FRESH APPROACH TO APUS
*IP67 connectivity equipment is 100% protected against incursion from solids like dust and sand
and has been tested to work for at least 30 minutes while under 15cm to 1m of water.
The Aspen APU has been designed from the inside out for high performance, versatility,
durability, reliability and ease of use.
The first thing you notice is the rounded composite skin that gives Aspen its next-generation
great looks and aerodynamic profile. Corrosion-free and lighter in weight, the injection-molded
housing cover is secured with two sturdy quick-release latches that make access for service a
breeze, even when the APU is partially hidden behind a fairing.
Inside and throughout the system, the Aspen APU uses marine-grade components and
enhanced alloys for strength and corrosion resistance. Automotive-grade, IP67-rated*
electronics provide protection against sand, dust and water incursion.
THE EASIEST-EVER CONTROL
FOR COOLING, HEATING AND MORE
The Aspen APU’s driver interface has been completely redesigned to make temperature control as effortless
as a home thermostat. The single control knob glows red when in Heat Mode, blue in Cool Mode and green in
Comfort Monitor Mode. Drivers dial up the precise cab temperature they want, and the system does the rest.
The control has a backlit digital display showing set-point, cab temperature and even the outside temperature.
The Menu button makes it easy to toggle between various operating modes, which also include Battery Monitor
to keep the engine and APU batteries topped off; Winter Watch for automatic engine pre-heating, and a Manual
Mode that enables cab-specific programming. For example, the Aspen APU can be programmed to automatically
start and warm up the truck engine at 4:30 AM every Monday, so the tractor is ready when the driver is set to go.
*The costs and benefits provided by and described in this calculator are estimates only, and are based on Carrier Transicold’s base model diesel APU, which includes as standard components a fuel-fired heater and inverter, which not all competitive models include. Actual fuel savings may vary, and will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to load, equipment type, driver performance, distances traveled, vehicle speed and environmental conditions. Some additional intangible cost savings not reflected in the “calculated savings” include driver retention, reduced DPF maintenance, reduced engine hours and maintenance and higher truck residual value based on reduced engine hours.
